The PT seeding coulter is a tine system designed to ensure effective and robust seed placement in conventional sowing, minimum tillage and even non till sowing conditions where suitable. Its design prioritises mechanical simplicity, high structural strength and excellent soil penetration.

The working row unit is based on an interchangeable opening tine, made from wear-resistant material and fitted with a tungsten carbide tip, ensuring excellent durability even in abrasive soils. This system allows the furrow to be opened directly and effectively, ensuring correct seed placement.

The coulter is constructed from 15 mm thick high-strength steel, giving it great rigidity and the ability to work in demanding conditions. Thanks to its design and spring-loaded pressure system, it can exert up to 120 kg of pressure on the ground, facilitating penetration into hard soils or those with vegetation cover.

The assembly incorporates a simple and reliable spring-loaded pressure adjustment system, which allows the coulter’s behaviour to be adapted to ground conditions. Furthermore, the clamp-fastening system ensures a secure attachment to the seeding coulter, maintaining the stability of the assembly during operation.

Seed delivery is achieved via an antistatic down tube, which improves flow consistency and reduces distribution issues, particularly in dry conditions.

From an agronomic perspective, the PT coulter stands out for its penetration capacity, reliability and low maintenance, making it a particularly suitable solution for farms seeking a robust and versatile system capable of operating in a wide range of conditions without mechanics.

ON WHICH SEED DRILLS IS IT AVAILABLE?

VESTA machines are high-capacity trolleys that can be fitted with various types of seeding equipment.
ARES-P seed drills are pressurized three point hitched machines designed for conventional or minimum tillage sowing, featuring a 2,000-litre hopper.
ARES seed drills are three point hitched machines for conventional sowing or minimum tillage with a 2,000-litre hopper.
ALANA seed drills are three point hitched seeding equipment that requires a front hopper.

Recommended uses

  • The PT coulter is particularly suitable for:
  • Sowing cereals using conventional tillage
  • Minimum tillage with moderate levels of crop residue
  • Non tillage in favourable conditions
  • Hard soils or where high penetration is required
  • Farms that prioritise robustness and simplicity

Agronomic benefits

  • Using the PT coulter provides:
  • High penetration capacity (up to 120 kg of pressure)
  • Excellent durability thanks to the tungsten carbide tine
  • Low maintenance and high mechanical reliability
  • Good adaptation to variable soil conditions
  • Consistent performance in both conventional and reduced tillage systems
